LOUD exhaust
The exhaust on my 85.5 is LOUD. It has an aftermarket cat and muffler not sure of the make etc.
I am trying to source a stock exhaust from the front pipes back but I am not sure I want someone else's 30 year old pipes. Is there a good combination cat plus cat back that will give me something very close to stock? This exhaust is loud when I start it [pisses my wife off at 730am] and real loud all the way through the gears until 5th where you almost can't even hear it. Would a Dansk plus generic cat work? I think the factory cat is what really quits these cars down no? I use the car once a week 20 miles each way to work and back. And am exhausted [no pun] after that. |

Ok how about this.
How is a Dansk exhaust with a stock cat? Pretty close to stock in sound? I have heard clips but most have gutted cats etc. |

Not sure if it's close to stock sounding - but the polished version looks a lot nicer.
My 944 came with the tail pipe hanging from the two hangers, so I just put the Dansk on there. Sounds just fine with a stock cat. Once I get the starter bolt replaced and the starter back on the car, I'll be happy to take a sound capture for ya. |

I have the Dansk on my car that was installed by a previous owner. I don't think it is much louder than stock compared to my 924S. I am also ditching the stock cat for a much smaller aftermarket version in the next couple of weeks, but I have to get the car from storage first. I'll report back once I make the switch.
