Replaced oilcooler seals - told to replace all coolant hoses
Hi Guys, had oil in my coolant reservoir, but luckily no coolant in engine oil. Replaced oil cooler seals, now mechanic says need to replace all coolant hoses due to damaged from oil. The coolant hoses are only a couple years old. Anyone experienced this? Thanks

Reverse flush the cooling system until the water runs clear, add some mild detergent (dish soap) to the flushing water if you want. Oil floats on coolant so I cannot see it doing any damage to the hoses unless it sat there a while. Ask him to point out where he sees the damage to the hoses, I'm guessing there isn't any.

The oil will all migrate to the coolant tank and you can wipe it off of the radiator cap after a few weeks it will all be gone no need to flush or replace or anything else

Oil isn't going to hurt the coolant hoses unless they soak in it for a LONG time. Like the others said, just flush it with some detergent and water. Fill it up (leaving the bleeder open) and let it sit for a few hours. Drain. I then removed the heater line from the water pump and used it to back flush everything out good with a water hose.. Works like a charm.
