you've got to be a special kind of retard to pay $13k for an average 944.
no matter what the book says...an average-condition NA is still a $3k car, tops. |

Have you looked at auction prices lately? They are going up. I'm not saying they are in the collector car range but ............it has better than it has been.

And in the UK too, classic car dealers are starting to have really nice 924s and 944s on their lots, with astonishing prices. Most of the tatty cars are disappearing fast. In fact a firend has given up breaking them as a business because they are too few and far between in breaking condition.

the 944s and the 928s are GREAT cars. the junk is being parted out so the good to excellent are coming to the surface.
both have been under appreciated. it is about time their prices go up a bit. as I am about to retire end of June, once I get my 78 930 done thinking about getting into buy/fix/flip a few. not sure if I can make any money on them yet. and in general restore-able air cooled 911s are just to expensive to get into any more. we'll see

I guess it was only a matter of time; have you guys seen what 914's are going for? No offense to anyone here, but I'll just say that the 914 isn't on my favorite car list, on any spectrum...

Haven't really noticed as I don't keep a look out for values. Did a quick search locally and found an average looking, good runner 87 951 with recent foes service, good dash, seats need recovering, 27/6 turbo, 115k miles and 6/10 paint going for $9k and an 88 944 in excellent condition, serviced, runs great, 9/10 paint, 72k miles for $6k. I suppose they have gone up a little from a few years ago for the same condition, nothing to get excited about. I doubt they will appreciate much more so it's probably not a good time to buy.

The days of the decent 3k 944 are quickly passing. The special kind of idiots are those who will look back in ten years and remember what they let go of for cheap.

Vermont was going to tax me on 11.2K on this car I paid 2850 for. They use the NADA collector book to tax you on it when you register it. The car is nice, maybe 5K? So I had to spend 50 dollars to get her appraised to reduce the taxes. 87 Verde 172K miles. Guy was moving to Seattle from N.H and had to sell it. I stole this car. The mods are extensive and new.
Wow trans axle cars are worth some bucks now.

Yo Alfasrule!
Nice car and I see that you own a Montreal, really? I know very little about them and have never seen one live but am totally in love with that model. Please, please, please post a couple pics. I rate them right up there with the Bora and Urraco in desirability. Thanks!

And, not to sound creepy at all, I would love to come by and just snap a crapload of pics of the Montreal if you wouldn't mind. Sorry if I'm drooling a bit...

Ok, so I just cheated on my wife by looking at those pics... Does that make me a bad person?
Thanks Ernie!
