Help me get a 931 Started/Running??
https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media...ypeo5um3qw.jpg
So I'm now the owner of this 52k mile 1980 931. It's a bit of a rough car but I see potential in saving it, as it's all in one piece. https://rennlist.com/forums/attachme...16229588_o.jpg So far, I've determined I've got spark and air (I think?), and the car cranks/turns over but fuel is what's missing. I've videos below on what's going on so far. (Trying to start car) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9039I-AsVCk What's confusing is that it seems anything electric triggers the fuel pump with the car in the 'on' position. (Fuel pump triggered by manual adjustment on headlight motor...Can't tell if sound is indicative of a good or bad pump?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1BRiMO0A0g (The most confusing part of the problem) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uej6w6ealX0 I've ordered a new fuel pump relay and have replaced most or all of the fuses in the fuse box. I'm lost on how all of these electrical bits are tied to the motor starting though. Any help would be appreciated!! |
