Msds headers

Alright from what Ive found in the search bar, this seems to be a controverisal subject.
I have recently came into possesion to a set of 2nd gen msds headers, my question is what size exhaust should I go with when replacing my factory exhaust that has leaks all through it.
Im not going with the 3" due to the fact that I dont want to be a nuesance in my neighborhood, as well as reading that I will loose significant hp at low rpm, which is what I usually stay in on the dragon. Factory size was 2'25 I believe. so figured I should stick around that? sound is the least of my worries but I also dont want it to sound like a weedeater.. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1496083861.jpg

2" or 2.25".
No need to go bigger.
If you have a dyno convenient to you it would be greatly appreciated to do before/after tests to measure the effectiveness of the headers on a mostly-stock engine (since NO data exists anywhere in the world for 944s lol).
If you send me sheets and data I'll reimburse you for part of the dyno time cost.

I don't even know where a dyno is here in Knox, but when I get around to getting it fitted I will definitely look.

Racer's Edge in Knoxville might have one.

I believe the guy that owns air cooled classics set up a dyno in the building next to him.
Its been 20 years but the owner is/was straight up.....honesty, integrity, ect.

ill have to call them up and see what the rates are!

Any update on MSDS header install?

Are these the same headers that Lindsey racing sells?

Anyone w/ HP numbers on 16V cars? I have a 968 and am considering these.

Thanks!

Yeah they are the same that lindsey racing sells, and they have the ceramic coating on them.
and I have found a dyno that I can deffinately use so I can get some data for V2rocket but unfortunately I will have to replace my clutch before I can do this... I cant rev passed 3k without it sounding like its going to blow up and it is quite clunky. so I guess the header swap will have to wait a couple months. :/

Sucks on the clutch. BTW - I think the MSDS site has them cheaper than Lindsey as well.

I've done header swaps on GTO's and Trans AM's but not on a Porsche yet! Sounds like biggest issue is just making sure you don't screw up the studs coming out of the head. I've got to sell a roller to make some room in garage, once that happens I am going to work on the header issue.

Im sure it will be worth it, ive basically had a reignition of my passion for this car. so as long as it runs im going to bust my a$$ to get it running my way.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/roker.gif
