Alarm bypass

Hi, I'm bypassing my alarm, using the information I was kindly supplied by a forum member, dgcantrell. I have since read somewhere that it is not recommended to use the car with this done, only as a test for a non starting car. Is this correct,or can I carry on using the car as normal with the bypass in place? Advice appreciated thanks.

Use it in good health...

Properly done, the bypass works just as well as a car that came from the factory without an alarm.

Be careful, there are two different alarm controls in the 944 series; the 944S2 (and some later 944's) is different from the 944 that is on Clark's Garage.

Quick internet search should find it.

Thanks for your replies, I have been warned about the clarks garage wiring issues. I need to identify my particular alarm control.

Doesn't Clark's page have directions for early and late model 944?

Pretty sure I used Clark's page for my 83 and have had 0 issues since the bypass.

Just checked

There is a later late alarm for which the Clark's procedure causes a short circuit and burned wiring.

That's why I posted the link to prevent it.
