Rattling in transaxle in neutral

Noticed during auto-x today that in neutral a lot of rattling coming from transaxle. Just rebuilt shifter (still grinds 2-3 occasionally) last weekend; could that be something? Hopefully a linkage adjustment?

Thanks for any insight

Probably not a problem, look up the "floating 5th gear"

Porsche wouldn't warranty it and there's no fix because it's normal.

Dimi - my transaxle sounds like your video. I'm not sure if it's the torque tube or tranaxle. What was the problem in your case?

I haven't opened it yet but it comes for the 5th gear housing.

If you don't mind, please update this thread or send me a PM when you find out what it is. I'm really curious, since my car sounds identical to yours.

Sure thing. I have a business rebuilding 944 family transmissions and I am sure I will find something not right with it. Besides the noise mine comes out of gear sometimes or it doesn't engage correctly in 5th.
