Suspension questions

I have a couple questions regarding replacing and upgrading suspension, all help is appreciated alot!

I plan on replacing my front strut inserts probably with some cheap KYB GR-2, they are only 40 a piece. I also plan on putting on stiffer springs in the front. I do not want a rough ride though, just better handling without busting the fillings out of my teeth when i go over bumps. Will the 200 lb springs that lower the car 1.25 inches in the front or 250 lb that lower it 1.5 inches work with the stock replacement inserts - kyb's?
On performanceproducts they sell the 200 lb that lower it 1.25, the 220 that keeps it stock height, and 250 that lowers it 1.5. I heard that the 250's are pretty rough for street driving. Are the 220's to stiff? Would using the 200's and lowering it be more noticeable than going stiffer with 220's and staying stock height? They say "performance springs" for the 200 and 250's but not the 220. Sorry for going on and on, im just curious! Thanks alot,

-John

Are your current shocks bad?

Cheap shocks and stiffer springs in the front probably wont go to far in improving the handling.

If you really want to improve, try good shocks all around and a bigger rear sway bar.

I dont think they are performing like they shoudl, the front right is very very stiff and doesnt move AT ALL really. The front left is very squishy, The backs are in decent shape, could use new ones i guess. As of now i have oversteer so i wouldnt want a rear swaybar because that would increase oversteer wouldnt it? Thanks

the 250 lb Weltmeister springs will make the car ride very harsh, and will also give you pronounced understeer if you don't stiffen up the rear end as well (such as with a sway bar). When I was looking at springs, I was steered toward the 200 lb. Weltmeisters... and that's what I got. Haven't installed them yet, though.
