Seat belt mounts in a late 944?

Hey all... I was wondering what people are doing for an inner seat belt mount on a late 944? The inner seat belt receptical is mounted to the seat itself instead of the body. I want to change seats but keep the stock seatbelt. There are no factory mounts on the body and it looks like in order to drill through the tunnel I would have to remove the torque tube. Has anyone come up with a solution for this problem? Thanks, Andy.

the early model 944 had the seatbelt receptacle bolted to the "torque tube tunnel". i suspect the actual spot for that hole may still be there, just not drilled thru. there was a large captive nut welded on the "inside" of the tunnel to capture the bolt. there might just be enough room to stick a nut up there from under the car without removing the tube. | ||

There is a plate there but no through hole. I saved the seat belt ends from an early that I parted out but I don't have the shell anymore to look at. I wonder if the captive nut would still be welded in there with no hole? Anyone ever try to remove the seatbelt bracket from the stock seat?
