Another day in the office I mean Garage. 87 924s Auto

After unsuccessfully trying to install the Bursch 8v header on my 8v Porsche..(someone forgot to tell Bursch that some countries have RHD cars, come on we invented the car here in the UK! ) Had to put the original manifold back, this time I used turbo manifold gaskets which have undoubtedly made a much better seal on the ported head as the car is now much louder through the exhaust. On restarting a strange thing had occurred which ended up taking quite a few hours to resolve, for some unknown reason the car gained 400 rpm on idle with the idle stop screw the culprit maybe it came lose and worked its way out no idea but on resetting the screw the car would only fire up and then die within a second with no throttle response. After some hours of adjustments and checks the TPS was out of sync and off idle position so had to be repositioned, then came fuel pressure adjustment, afm spring adjustment, co adjustment and idle speed and backwards and forwards over the adjustments... quite a job to get it all setup and running again. Ended up deciding on a co of approx. 2.7%.
Well the effects where well worth it my car is now a long way from stock but finally I am seeing the results needed which will see me giving 911 owners a bit of a shock.. I can pull 100 in second with ease possibly 120 when I install the 280 deg cam.
Erm did some one say the 8v cant be tuned??
I am currently building a DIY manifold which will take a 5th injector// it will be needed for my DIY supercharger.. watch this space.

would love to see some dyno info from the headers install.

what gearbox do you have in the car?
an NA box should do about
1 - 35 mph
2 - 58 mph
3 - 85 mph
4 - 120 mph
5 - infinity and beyond

a turbo box does about:
1 - 42
2 - 72
3 - 105
4 - 140
5 - time travel

what kind of supercharger are you intending to run? i have some parts from my own SC project i might be able to sell you if you were interested, including a custom "box manifold"

Garage
I think he's talking KPH. Cracking 100MPH in 2nd would take about 12,000 RPM or some tall rear gears

Auto clues in the title!

3 Speed Automatic, running 16 inch rear Turbo teledials with 235/60/16s giving a theoretical increase of 9% gearing. Hope to eventually fit 4 speed tiptronic without the electrics but that's in the future for now....

Be very interested in parts you may have available if they fit in with my plans, I am looking at a Subaru supercharger a compact unit which will probably only give a low pressure increase but should fit in with what I want to achieve. Dyno is a little way off, I have to install the race cam, (weighing up solid lifters against hydraulic at the moment), new billet injection rail and damper, some exhaust work, wideband sensor and gauge and then finally I can look at the ECU which most probably will be the Augtronic unit. Should get there in a few months all going well.

I've seen that small Subaru unit...very interesting..
Solid lifters are kind of a pain with the 944's camshaft housing, you have to remove the cam every time you adjust the lash...not easy like other cars.

Fuel rail, unless you just want a "pretty one", no real need to upgrade - turbo folks are using the stock 944 fuel rail past 600bhp...
