Kit car!
If you have the time and space, why not put it together? Lots of options. |

Well - I mostly bought it to resell it or sell the parts. I don't think that it is going to be easy to sell off the parts though and it seems like it may be worth more running that the sum of the parts.

The car is not currently running. The compression numbers on the engine are 1.190 2.195 3.180 4.200 - Tested 10/28/00. Car hasn't been driven since May 02. Apparently the od worm gear was broken so actual mileage is unknown - PO guesstimates approx 230,000 to 260,000. Car has a new clutch on 1/21/02. The alternator was put in 3/30/01.
More info from someone elses questions ---- Why was the car disassembled? ---PO wanted to turn it into a racecar - cam belt tensioner needed to be replaced Are all the parts & pieces there? ---To the best of my knowledge after taking an inventory (Save maybe the winshield washer pump) How are the tires? ---Decent but car has been sitting since may in one spot How about the belts, waterpump, & tensioner? ---new waterpump and belts, need to be adjusted before starting How is the suspension? (stock?,aftermarket?) ---Don't know about the suspension Other than recovering the seats, getting a new/used dash and a couple of trim pieces the interior looks ok. ---need the armrest cover, and a new sunroof interior cover, also need the pieces that go inside between door frame and sunroof hole The body looks good in the pics but how is it up close? ---Body is good, worst thing is small gash 2 inch long in drivers A pillar, paint definetly old - worst spot in pic under gas filler. I bet after a wash and wax though it wouldn't be too bad. |

Do you have any of the engine parts left and the spare tire?

part it out. keep all the money made on parting it out in an account and don't touch it. by the time you're done, you should have enough for another S2 and a nice 951.

Well - I decided to try and sell the car outright. I put an ad in the classifieds. I am going to guage the response and then make a decision about parting it out after a week or two. It sounds like from the responses I got that this is what the parts would be going for if I end up going that route.
Trans - $500 Motor - $1000 est Wheels - $400 Front fenders - $225 a piece Front Turbo nose - $250 Rear valence - $200 Rear hatch - $150 Carpet - $250 Control arms - $50 a piece
