I would like to know how the rev limiter works ie: closing of fuel or interupting the spark.
As I tend to change gears when the engine pops and would like to know if this will cause damage (only when Iam sticking it to a ricer or other inferior machine) The engine just keeps pulling till it hit the limit mainly 1st or 2nd as speed seems to be excessive once you get to 3rd(as per road signs)

I believe the rev limiter shuts off the fuel pump. No damage.

At the rev limit, injection pulses are cut in half by the 'puter. Then when it's at lower level, full inj. is resumed. when limit is reached again, pulses are cut in half again. That's why you feel the surging. The space is about 80 rpms
