intake leak
Our 85 944 had a surge at idle when warmed up, took it into my service guy thinking it was an injection issue and beyond my technical prowess. Turns out it was an intake manifold leak. That was 4 months and about 1000 miles ago. Now it's doing it again.
Is this a common thing? Our 83 has never done it. |

Common problem. Use a smoke tester to isolate the area. Consider sending the intake manifold to a machine shop to check for flatness vs. warpage.
