Porsche Crest pulled my head off

I think I got pretty lucky. We pulled the head off and the end of the valve was jammed up side-ways in the intake hole, so the head is gone. The piston has a few small marks on it, but nothing punched through or went too deep. The clyinder wall seems fine, no scratches. The only thing is that it leaves a little bit of oil behind when the piston goes down, not much though. Looks like we'll be looking for a new head now...

You want a similar head to what you have- I have a source for a good rebuildable one. 8V 2.5L from a 87 944.

not much, just a really thin coat about an inch wide. Thin to where some places with-in the inch that there is no oil...I don't really know how to describe it. It didn't seem to worry my dad...

Kinda like streaks? Mine leaves tiny streaks when I crank it by hand. I was told that the rings are suppose to be extremely close to the cylinder walls. Some oil should streak through the rings?

I would check for a bent rod...certainly the piston travel has changed by the impact of the valve...
