Finally redid my exhaust, check it out!
I just redid my exhaust yesterday, before it was 2.5" with a high flow cat and and high flow turbo muffler and had crush bends, i didnt drop it to weld it all so it leaked bad and sounded terrible and loud!
I redid it this time and dropped it to weld it all, i put in another small high flow muffler between the cat and thrush turbo muffler. I also used ALL mandrel bends instead of crush. Is quite a bit quiter now and sounds pretty good, still louder than stock but not too loud and doesnt sound like any car heard, i like it alot better! Check it out

You all want to know whats cool about it, it cost me a whole 80 bucks for it all!
I bought the high flow cat off ebay for 41 shipped a while back, and bought the thrush turbo muffler from advanced auto for 20 bucks. I bought a small section of 2.5" pipe for about 20 bucks. For the other muffler and mandrel bends..... Dumpsta diving!!! I went to all my local muffler shops and they have lots of mandral bends thrown in the dumpsters behind the store and on old exhaust sytems. There was that little high flow muffler in there too, still in good condition. Clean it up and spend a little time and there you go, a good flowing, nice looking exhaust for 80 bucks! Heres some pics of the stuff i acquired from the dumpsters! lol

Do you have plenty of clearance w/ the middle muffler?

Yes, you know the heat sheilding that runs below the torque tube that the piping sits inside of, well Right after that, and before the rear CV's is a little hole that has a hanger in it, the muffler sits pretty much all the may up in there, it isnt any lower than the transmission, it has good clearance, and the cat and piping to the middle muffler fits in there good too.

That looks pretty good, specially considering the investment. However I don't think you need two mufflers as well as a cat. I ran both my turbo and na with one straight through muffler only. Specially with forced induction, you're likely to benefit from free flow more...
I've been looking for a muffler for my prelude for some time, shops around here don't tend to throw away too much... Ahmet

Ahmet - Yah i could just use a test pipe with a high flow muffler, but that would be really damn loud! I had a high flow cat and 1 high flow muffler and was too loud for me, i think when a 944 flows too much it sounds like a honda too much.
Eduardo - Dont know what your saying...... what air pump and what cat tip, that little nipple? I dont kow what thats for, hooks up to some cars i guess...... |
