What a beater! At least he doesn't have it priced ridiculously, the reserve has been met at $3.9k. It would be a fun project for that price. 550 ft.lbs of torque! It would cost alot more just to get the stuff to do the conversion.

I´m a purist in the way that if I have a porsche I will like that everything will be original (except improve modifications), but if you have more than once why not completely modificate.
I really can have a 944 with chevy 350 but fuel injected (driveability and fuel comsuption)

I´m agree, the reserve is met sounds cheap, I will need to drive it.
About the hood, don´t like me !, butI´m not the owner.

I already saw the engine bay, yes looks like a little of fire there.

About the claimed hp, I really don´t belive it, is not imposible but difficult without some basics.

ok, 383, but don´t have aluminium heads then the maximum cr for a streetable engine with actual gasoline and with out fuel injection management will be no more of 9.2., says vortec then the most probable truck heads.
The intake manifold is a low intake, great for street idle. to 5000 but not for high revs and the carburator make more power but at peak revs only.
The valve covers are the stock truck covers, low profile then, do not have roller rockers.
Also, don´t have the basic- HEADERS !

then 300 to 350 hp, more than respectable , ok supose that the claimed hp was right , But no way 550 of torque.

Ok, a v8 have torque, a stock 350 have 180 hp, in a manual 944 sounds very fun to drive.

I really can have one.

always is cheap to buy a converted one that modify one.
And this will be a great project car, because you can buy it cheap, and need works.

If I only live in usa ! ( I don´t want it , but I really can have better cars )

That thing has had a fire in the past, that engine compartment rust should have been fixed when the motor was out.

very sad.

i have a 944 lt1 and after looking at that trash, id be 100% ashamed to have anything to do with it. my lt1 actually looks factory, damned nice if i do say so myself. if anyone is interested in a super clean conversion i can email some pics to you. its not for sale but a firm $21,000 and you can drive it home.

A stock 350 has more than 180 hp. Maybe 280, i'm not sure. The mustang 4.6 has 260 and I know that the 350 puts out more than the 4.6

60´s and 70´s 350 have stupid claimed hp like 350 hp, yes this engine have better hp, a lot more of compression (11.0 and 12.0 with iron heads ! ), in this times existed good quality fuel.
But if you dyno now this engines in a dyno (with the old fuel) you will not have more than 260 hp.

Normal 350 (80´s except corvette) have 180 hp carburated

fuel injection vette
The 350 86-91 vette have 250 hp (real 220)
92-95 lt1 300 hp,
96 lt1 grandsport 330
97-2003 LS1 350 have 350 hp
2001 -2002 ZO6 350 vette 375 hp
2003 z06 350 vette 400 hp
the best ever 350 was the zr1 engine (lotus design, made by evinrude) this engine was 4 cam, 16 injectors 406 hp

the mustang 4.6 engine have a better engine design (yamaha), 1 cam per bank, first engine 210 hp, now 260. exist a 4 cam version mustang cobra with more than 300.
the previous 92 mustan have 302 engine 5.0 the bets one with fuel injection was 220 hp.
