matching vin's?
 

curious, is the vin on the windshield supposed to exactly match the vin on the firewall by the battery, or is it just the last batch of digits?

I believe every porsche imported from the 80's -> present to northamerica is like this....

The chassis number will have ZZZ and another check digit being different than the VIN on the windshield.....

The only reason I know this is that I am importing a Porsche into Canada....and I am waiting for customs to give me a hazzle about this when it crosses the border........... this is a well known issue.

On occassion you may get local law enforcement or customs give you a hazzle because of VINs that dont match.
