Brake light wiring question

While removing the rear hatch hinges, I hadn't properly secured the hatch and so the hatch slid toward the back of the car a bit pulling about a foot of the center rear brake light wiring out of the C pillar. Now the wiring still goes into the C pillar but the light no longer works. I assume the wire was pulled out of a connection at the other end. BUT where is the other end? What or where do those wires connect to? Thanks.

The wires connect with a round white molex connector inside the driver side quarter panel, just aft of the quarter window, near the sunroof motor assembly. Remove the carpet enough and you might be able to see the loose connector.

Thanks George. I'll check it out later today. Do I understand correctly that to get to this connector I need to remove the same carpeting/trim to expose the sunroof motor?

Yes, exactly.

Removing the carpet above the sunroof motor I see a 4 pin round connector that is not connected to anything. Is that what I'm looking for? If so, I have to find where the other part went to!

The other end looks just like it, but female. It is probably up in the C pillar (between the rear quarter window and the hatch.)

Thanks George, it worked! Yup, the other end was way back in the C pillar. No way to see it, let alone reach it, so I pulled the wire completely out of the hole where it enters the pillar and maneuvered a straightened coat hanger down through the opening and grabbed it at the other end. Then connected the wire to it and pulled it through. Made the connection and the brake light works again. Thanks for your experience! Cheers.
