2002 996 C4S
|
Hey all - I am acquiring an 87 924s from a cousin. His father (who owned the car but is not near it) believes he put the title in a "hidden compartment" in the car. Anyone know what he might be talking about? I will be picking up the car later this week and hoping to solve this mystery to get the title transferred. Otherwise will need to order a copy.

in the door jambs there's a plastic vent thing.
you can squeeze its fingers that hold it in place and reach into the inner fender cavity - a HUGE space back there. |

Maybe in the hatch area, both sides of the carpet you can lift to reveal "hidden" storage.

Of course, you can request a replacement title from NY DMV for $20. Probably a better use of your time than looking for a possibly non existent piece of paper.
You can even do it by mail... saving you more time in the DMV office.

Here are my two guesses:
1. Under the ashtray. I used to hide 'oh sh"t' money there. 2. Speaker grill at center dash? Although I'm not sure how this grill comes off or if there really is any storage in there.

pull the horn pad, there's a cavity inside the steering wheel useful for storing emergency $, papers, bags of white powder, etc

Maybe one of the side pockets in the hatch area?

Stuffed in the head liner/plastic trim above your head.
When you get stopped the police want to see your hands and not watch you move around and act suspicious. J_AZ

I don't know about you all,but I have a banner ad regarding the Alzheimer's association when I'm looking at this page. Maybe the secret compartment is for only one person to know....

If everyone knew of the Porsche secret compartment, it wouldn't be a secret.
