Rattle sources and solutions

Fellow 944 ites..

I found some significant rattle sources and thought some of you would like to know about them.

1) Box cover over the wiper motor. I removed the cover, used one half of some black velcro on the articulating surfaces, and reinstalled. Rattles gone cosmetically transparent.

2) Shroud over the wiper motor under the hood. Mine had rubber feet meant to prevent rattles. The shroud was out of position and rendered the rubber feet useless. Loosen the bolt and there is just enough play to effect a change in how the shroud fits.

3) The two bushing cluster foxtrot shifter has finally stopped buzzing at stoplights. I lubricated the linkage, repositioned the bushings and added some foam to fill the void between the bushings. I held it in place with a rubber band, so re removal of both the shifter assembly and the noise repair would be easy. I know I'm going to get plenty of hate mail for putting a "rubber band" in a Porsche, but the fix works awesome and it's never been more quiet.

there are also rattles coming from the spare tire well. (sounds like the hatch, but its actually the spare.) I padded mine, and that anoying high pitch rattle went away.
