Wanted: Late 944 Speedo

I guess I pulled a little too hard when removing the speedo needle to get at the odometer gear. Pulled it clear out. Time for a "new" speedometer.

I'll check up on this posting fpr replies. Quickest way to get my attention is either a PM, or email ispaner25(at)comcast.net

you need the whole electronics piece or just the needle? I have a gauge cluster that I split up when I was trying to fix my speedo problem (the back housing turned out to have bad connections).

I have no use for it so $10 and shipping you can have it. The odometer gear is busted tho, youd have to replace it.

Or since you live in new haven which isnt that far from me, I could meet ya up there.

I was planning on taking Thurs and Fri off from work this week, so I could always shoot out there then.

If its easier for you to drop it in the mail, figure out a total $ with shipping and I'll pay-pal it over to you ASAP if thats ok.

If you want to come down here or me go up there I dont mind. I just want to get the car out on the road and stretch it out a little.

Paypal is nice but for $10? That and I have to pack it up (yea yeah Im lazy LOL). I always like to bring it in person, because then at least if you have a prob we can settle it there.

Do you have a new odo gear already?

I'll see if I can get out of work early on friday (its only two of us that run the shop) so I'll try to pull some extra hours in the meantime and come in early on friday. Id also like to see it installed in the car and working before I come back home (just keeps the what ifs out of my head).

I usually dont extend such courtesy for other car owners (mitsu guys I ship stuff and if they have a prob send it back)

Wow... thats more than I could ask for. If you have to rearrange your work schedule for it and all... I'd feel kinda bad about that..

Quick question, not sure if you have an answer or not.. It looks like (atleast on the back of my gauge) 2 wires soldered from the gauge to the rest of the cluster. I figure there'll be a lil bit of that involved.. Not sure how that would work 'in the field'..

well there shouldnt be anything soldered to the rest of the cluster. The entire speedo assembly should come out with 7 or so 8mm nuts. Once you get those off the entire thing should come right out.

If something has to be desoldered, no biggie. Ive been doin that stuff for years and I went to school to learn how to really properly do it (I have a major in Avionics....there is only one way to solder with mil-spec wire without melting the insulation). I'll bring my tools if you dont have an iron and solder.

If ya feel bad you can pay for my tolls to and from home (about$14 lol)
. I dont mind at all...I just want to meet another P-car owner and check out their car .

Dont worry about my work schedule. My boss is cool with it (its only us two and the last time I took a day off was beginning of september)
