Porsche Crest Still Searching: WTB 944 Harness Bar, Racing Seats

I'm looking for a Harness Bar and Racing Seats for my 944. I plan to use them for A/X, and Driver's Ed. Advice is welcome. Thanks!

If you're just going to use the harness for a/x and drivers eduation then you don't need to worry about getting a new fancy one that will be obsolete for track events in 2 years anyways. Just get some racer's obsolete one. I got a 5pt for $40....
Harness bars will pop up, I got mine for about $50
I'm looking at race seats eventually, but I love my factory sport seats....

Hi,

I have a Brey-Krausse stainless steel harness bar that I am looking to get rid of. They are $350.00 new. Will sell for $175.00. Its in perfect condition, was in a 1989 944 turbo.

Mac & Dave,

Thanks for the advice. Dave, is your Brey-Krause a Guide Bar or the Truss Bar? If its the guide, did you mount your belts directly to it?

Hank,

My harnesses are mounted to the rear seat belt attachement points and they run through the giude slots on the bar. The harness could be attached to the bar, but I don think that this is as safe. You can go to the Paragon 944 site, and search for harness bar to get a picture.

Thanks Dave. That is what I was thinking, but the information out there is thin. Were your harnesses long enough to extend out that far, or did you have to buy some type of extension? Hank

Hank,

The bar and harnesses came with the car when I purchased it. They are Sabelt harnesses.

Porsche Crest No Longer need Harness/ Harness Bar... Still looking for Competition Seats

I found harnesses and a bar. I'm looking for a pair of decent usedcompetition seats, preferably with tracks that will fit a 944.

Hank,

I have a black Momo Start seat that has never been used - I mounted it up and then got a great deal on a Recaro SRD. The Momo seat has some scuff marks on it from leaning against my workbench but is in overall great condition. LTB currently sells them for $259 and the sliders for $51 (I paid $370 for both). I would be willing too sell the seat and slider for $225 + shipping. The Start seat is a FIA fiberglass seat with 5 harness holes.

Also, I made a quick webpage awhile back with some photos and info. The pictures take awhile to load so be patient.

http://members.rennlist.com/skips95...seatforsale.htm

The sliders don't match up with the factory holes so you would need to fab up some adapters which shouldn't be to difficult

I also have a red Recaro SRD with sliders that I would let go for $325+shipping. The seat has the 5th hole or the sub belt and the slider will bolt right up to the factory mounting holes. You can tell the seat has been used, but is in very nice condition. Great seat - the only reason I'm selling it is because I got a great deal on a matching pair of black SRD's. I can email pictures if you are interested.

You can email me at skips951@aol.com if you interested.
