Porsche 944 turbo for sale
Hello everyone,
This car is located in Orange County California and is in very very nice shape. 100k original miles, clean engine bay, new headlights, 993 replica rims, very clean interior, fresh guards red paint, and much more... Now the bad: The turbo has gone bad just within the last week or so and basically it runs like a N/A... If you're looking for a beautiful guards red 951 this could be it! I'm taking all offers, just let me know... the worst I could say is "no". ![]() |

She is an 86' with 100k miles, NO lsd.
Performance Products Stainless exhaust, Custom Programs stage 2 chip, freshly rebuilt engine within last 5k miles, I can take more pictures of anything... I'll be doing that shortly. The only difference from the picture above is that I had the rims powder coated gloss black @ a cost of $425.00 just 3 weeks ago. |

951527 - I'm the guy that just bought this car and I just sent you a PM. Please check it for my cell phone number - maybe we can work something out even though you are across the country.
Can anyone comment on just how big a PITA it is to swap out the turbo? I have done a search under a variety of terms and can't find a thread on it. There's GOT to have been several by now. Anyone have a good link, preferably with pictures?

It's like changing the clutch, only you don't have to remove the engine.
pull the exhaust, the intake, including manifold, remove the wires, hoses, brackets, remove the steering link, get a stubby allen for the pedestool bolts, remove the drain breather, the water lines... get a set of swivel sockets, most common, 10-12-13-14-15-17-18-19mm, some extensions, it takes a better part of the day for a first timer porsche mechanic, regular old mechanic to get the core out..

Even though You bought a local turbo replacement instead of mine, I will help you out. Go to www.clarks-garage.com and click on the shop manual link on the left. His shop manual is alphabetical so go to T and you will find turbo removal and replacement. ALso here is a good write up as well.

951527 - Thanks very much, your help/advice appreciated. I just posted that I am in need of a wastegate too. I don't suppose you have a spare? A few other misc parts also in that post. Any help with a source also appreciated. Again, thanks. If not for the shipping time, I would have bought your turbo...I ended up paying $10 more and had to drive 50 miles in my thirsty-ass Dodge Ram...maybe I SHOULD have bought yours!
