944 8V head FS, complete and FREE (almost)

I've had this head sitting in the basement(s) of 3 homes and don't have any need for it.

I believe it was from an '84, but sure it was pre 85.5.

Offer me something at least equal to the value of the aluminum at the recycler plus shipping and it's yours.

Thanks,

Joe

Head, almost free

Yes, I could take Paypal. Still need to call a local scrap metal yard to see what it's worth in just aluminum.

The valves are intact. The head has been nicely packaged for at least 7 years. I can open and take some photos if you'd like.

Thanks,

Joe

Last time I was at a scrap yard I think aluminum cans were worth about 60 cents a pound and a head weighs roughly 20-25lbs.

If these fall through. I'll take the head. How does $40.00 plus shipping sound?

Hey Guys:

Sorry to not answer for a couple of days. A new canine family member arrived on Wednesday and we're still adjusting.

Before sending this to one of you guys, could you please give me an HONEST answer to this question? I apologize for my indecision.

In your opinion, would I be better off putting it on ebay. I have the head, cam carrier, cam, lifters, etc and it was SUPPOSEDLY off a 45k motor.

Right now, I'm thinking it may be worth spending a few bucks to list on ebay w/$50 reserve. If it doesn't reach that, I could sell it to one of you guys for $40 or whatever.

Thanks,

Joe

If you're looking to make money then yes by all means ebay will make you the most money. From what I've seen heads go for around $150 hence the great interest in your "almost free" one.

Hey just let us know what you wnat to do....I see carzy prices on e-bay both low and high. I just bought an intake for $5.00!!!

So do what's best for you....and if you sell for a bunch great for you..if you want to check back here, that's cool too.

Thanks guys for your understanding. I placed it on ebay with a $65 starting price, which is higher than we were talking about here. If it doesn't go, I'll let you know.

I put the cam carrier w/cam and followers as a separate auction with $50 starting price.

sold on e-bay

Unbeleivable. I hate to say it, but ebay seems to be the best place to be a seller of parts. The head went for $173 and the cam carrier for another $90.

Thanks for the education!
