WTB Stub Axles

Hi All:

Looking to buy a pair of 944/924 Stub axles. Wouldn't mind a set of good CV joints either. Cheap. Thanks.

Ok, I confess, you got me...I'm a VW guy. Here's the deal, 924/944 stub axles are the same as Beetle stub axles but for the flange. The flange fits 100 mm CVs (Bus Cvs, Thing CVs Type IV, 944 & 924 CVs as well). Going to be running Bus CVs for now and the better Thing/944, etc. CVs in the future. Instead of buying new-fangled chromoly stubs, if I could get a pair of 944/923 stubs at a reasonable price, well, then I'd be stupid not to do it. This is going into a desert rail project (on a budget). I'll be running race-prepped 930 CVs in a baja project down the road, but that's for another day. But back to your question (new or old): I don't know, but guessing old?? Which ever ones were the same as the 924 ones.

Thanks.

you're in the same boat i am...
you need the stub axles for an early car - they are the same as the Thing.... they are, however, different from the bug/bus axles...

Things and Bugs have different stubs - so be weary of what you buy... The physical "stub part" of the Thing stub axle is the same size as a bug... but the flange is for a Type 2 CV. Not a Type 4.

but why for the life of me go to a porsche forum? usually it's us porsche guys looking for VW parts because they're much cheaper...

How much do you wish to pay for the complete stub assembly? I have one side. Yes you seeking early 944 stubs for VW.

Thanks Guys. Eldorado is right. Add the "P" word and the prices reflect their manufacture in solid gold (or so it seems). Going to order a pair of chro-mo ones (US made) for $140 a pair. They're stronger, lighter and gosh darn it, people like them. Thanks again.
