Porsche Crest FS: 1984 Porsche 944 Auto - $400 (SF Bay Area) - SOLD

Runs, but sounds bad. Needs engine work (maybe broken oil pickup tube). Paint looks okay from a distance, but not so good close up (crappy repaint job is starting to peel). Great parts car -- Perfect glass, 'cookie cutter' wheels on front, Fuchs wheels on rear, DME computer, good sheet metal with no rust, has all parts. Does not come with battery, but I'll provide one to start it up & hear it run (badly). Will need to be towed away (no oil pressure). I'd really recommend that it be used as a parts car or registered in another state, as California wants $400 to re-register it due to expired registration for the last 4 years. Car is located in the San Francisco Bay Area (Menlo Park).

Here is a link to a photo album that I've set up that has pics of all the good & bad about the car:

hey dan, if you wanna talk about getting this thing up here... maybe we can get a couple other local guys in on it too and spread the cost of shipment... it wouldn't need to be 'imported' i dont think if it was just sold for parts... not sure...

anyway, think about it..

Lets see who we can get on it and also how much the shipping is going to cost us.
I think thats a good idea though, also once we agree on it, we should also agree on parts that we might need that way we are not fighting over same part.

i think so too, so now lets find out how to get it on the train, how much its going to cost us all together, and how many people are going to be down for this.

I have a truck, so if you pay the cost of a U-Haul car hauler ($55) & gas, I'll drop it off at a local train station (do they transport cars on trains? I always thought it was by diesel auto transporters)...

Yes they do transport cars on trains, now getting a non running car on a train might be a little difficult. As for customs i wouldn't have any idea as i have never imported a vehicle from US.

Whoops! Sorry - photo album link fixed.

When I start it up, I fog the cylinders with oil - I can run it for 15 seconds without fear of seizing, enough to get it up on a car hauler or train.

Tried to edit this thread to change the title so that the new lowered price was shown, but was unsuccessful, so I posted a new thread.

Mods: Please delete this thread, if possible. Thanks.
