can someone identify this NOS 944 engine part, or whatever it is

I am not familiar with 944 mechanicals. Can someone tell me what this is along with a ball park value. I would like to sell it. Part number is 944 102 023 00.

Thanks

Rod

I think that's a balance shaft. Nobody would buy it on it's own since they are matched to the engine.

it would be a great pry bar or ice breaker, or you could hammer on it all day trying to move something.

dude no one is gonna buy it as its useless to anyone - it is matched to an engine so its only good for ONE engine in the world - the one it came from - otherwise like everyone else said - its garbage.
What makes me laugh is people trying to sell these on evilbay for like 99.99.

Does this balance shaft have a serial number on it? The covers are matched to the block but not the balance shafts. Ive had to use a couple from a different engine and they worked perfect.

The problem is that this was a new part in plastic, not a used part. Why would they make a spare if it is useless? This has never been installed, and still has protective cosmoline on it. I'm not saying it is worth anything, but am confused as to how I came upon this as a repair part if it is useless.

You aren't crazy rgofast, the shafts are replaceable.

It's the covers that are machine matched to the block, not the shaft itself.
