do either of these cars have good replaceable-cartridge type front strut housings? I need a pair of housings so I can replace the struts on my '88 NA. I am not yet ready to take the leap to the full Koni assemblies (actually it's my wallet that is hesitant)

yea the struts should be fine.. I have a set from an 87+ Turbo car that will probably work better for your 88.

Paragon was offering me $130 for struts to use as cores for there koni conversions.

How about $150 shipped?

this car is stock.. if that is the case then you can have the struts off the 86.. I have like 3 sets of struts.. 1 from an 87+ turbo.. and 2 sets from 86 turbo's.

let me know which you want.

thanks,
keith

Keith,

not sure what I want right now See my post on the tech forum... do you have the struts off all of the cars? I'm trying to determine if there's any difference between the 85.5-86 struts and 87-88 other than one uses cartridges and the other has sealed struts. Right now I have sealed Gabriels on my car and am trying to come up with a cost-effective repair for the near-dead struts. I was thinking if I could get some 85.5-86 struts I could use Bilsteins and then I wouldn't have to replace the rears (I have Bilsteins on the rear of my car now.) Unfortunately Bilstein doesn't make an 87-88 front strut, hence this whole line of inquiry.

If you're able to tell me whether this will work or not I'd be greatly appreciative as I don't have any spare parts laying around to compare.

thanks,

nate
