Porsche Crest Parting Out 1984 944 na

Greetings all,

I have a Black on Black 84' 944 na here that I am considering parting out. I have had the car since 2002 (ish) purchased from a dealer in North Carolina via ebay.

The car is in decent shape except for the front seats, dash, ring and pinion in the transaxle, and the hatch glass is separating from the seam. All fairly common for these cars as you all know.

If there is enough interest I would be willing to part it out. I had considered keeping the car and buying a replacement tranny, but if I can part it out and use the funds to help get a more reliable vehicle for my family I should.

The car runs strong with 87k on the OD.

Located in and parts would be shipped from Maine (04330)

Buyers would pay shipping costs or pick up locally.

Email me: sabyre@gmail.com or PM me here if you are interested in anything.

*** SOLD SO FAR ***

Hood... $75
ECU and Hatch Pins... $100
Ref and Speed Sens... $50
Windshield Foam, AC Tensioner Rod, License Plate Bracket... $50
15x9 Fuchs (Pair)... $1000

The pictures below are somewhat old but offer an accurate representation. I can take more specific pics on request.

What's wrong with the car - looks to be in good condition.

The ring and pinion blew out or something in the transaxle.

If you lift the rear end and spin one tire the other does nothing.

The front seats need to be recovered, the dash has cracks, and the hatch glass is separating from its trim.

Other than that its in really good shape.

OK, well after some consideration I have decided to part out the car. We could really use the money right now as we are struggling a bit.

I have started to remove parts for people that have requested them so far. Nothing yet has been set in stone so let me know what you all need.

It would be best to contact me via email sabyre@gmail.com or give me a call 207-837-8845 the name is Steve.

I am a verified member of PayPal and have been a Pelican for years.

Parts will be first come first serve, buyers pay all shipping costs. I will offer the parts here first and then move them to ebay.

Hate to do it, it's a nice car with a lot of good memories, but that's life.

EDIT: I wanted to add that I have never parted one of these before so it would be best for you to give me your offers for items as I really have no clue what the value of them are. Or if someone that has parted one before could shoot me an email and give me some pointers that would be great.

The computer is fine, not sure what you mean about the latching parts. Are you talking about the latch pins that come off the hatch?

1.) Guage cluster (Speedo, Tach, Guages) if the tach has the upshift light (It should on an 84)

2.) Sunroof clips and retainers (with the screws if possible) from the front of the sunfroof.

3.) Drivers side seatbelt if in good condition

Got the foam rubber windshield strips? They run along the A-pillars on the outside, between the glass and windshield frame.

I could also use the lighter, rear license plate bracket, and the A/C tensioner rod.

Does the windshield have to be removed to get to the strips?

Lighter is non working.

Make an offer on the bracket and tensioner....

I don't believe so. My car never had those strips. The frame can be removed with simple prying. Remove the top center strip first. I was able to pry mine out by starting at one end, using a screwdriver from the roof line, it pulls straight forward. I was able to do it w/o even hurting the paint. Once the center section is off, the end sections can be removed by hand, by pulling up and away from the car, working your way from the top to the bottom. Once those are off, you should be able to see what retains the rubber. I'm guessing it's merely double stick taped on, or just sandwiched between the windshield and the frame pieces, but since I never had them, it's only a guess.

Heck, you might even be able to remove them without pulling the frame, but I don't want them torn
