FS: 944 2.7 race engine
Porsche 944 2.7 liter race engine. I had it built by Fairfield County Motorsports for my ’87 944 to have more fun at Porsche Club Drivers Ed events. The increase in power and torque over stock is significant. While not dyno’d, FCM estimated around 200hp. This was built on a pristine block by “the” 944 shop in the region. I can’t find the receipt, but if memory serves correctly it got new pan bearings, a polished and shaved head, custom manufactured headers, extrude honed manifold, and a competition valve job. If you’ve got an 1983-1989 944 normally aspirated car or 1987-88 924S, and want to save money and time getting a more powerful engine, this is the way to go.
The engine saw only 3 Drivers Ed events at LimeRock. Unfortunately, due to body and steering damage I retired the car about 5 years ago, stripped the panels, cut off the nose for easy removal of the engine, and stored it with the intention of building another track car. At this point it seems safe to say that’s not going to happen, so figure it’s time to let it go. Looking for reasonable offers plus actual palleting/shipping. As the engine is still in the car (frame with tranny and clutch), you can come with a trailer and take the whole thing if you'd prefer. If you’re interested, please send me a message. Thanks. ![]()

Looks like a nice tub Racerbvd, but I'm not ready for a project right now. Hoping there's someone out there who is building a track car of their own, or needs a spare engine. Still looking for offers...
