Uncommon 944 parts for sale

Have a couple of odds and ends - figured I would put them out here for sale.

Limited slip turbo transmission - just overhauled and in great shape - $1600 and I can ship it anywhere in the US for $75 via DHL.

Real nice condition climate control panels - I think that these are 600 to 800 new. I wouuld like to get $125 a piece on these.

930 club sport imitation steering wheel - great condition and well put together. This bolts right onto the non-airbag 944s. Leather is in good shape with no aging or cracks/holes - $400.

Set of NA foglights - lots of road sandblasting but not holes or cracks - $60 for the pair.

The story on the trans is as follows I bought a 1987 Porsche 944 turbo that had a limited slip trans in it with no cooler - car had 128k. The trans was shot so I swapped in another LSD trans that I had squirreled away. I also had a normal turbo trans with a cooler - I think this trans was out of an 86 with 142k on it.

I took the broken 87 limited slip trans and the good 86 trans to a master technician friend of mine with over 20 years experience and also a 944 driver and he took the lsd unit out and put it in the 86 trans. We couldn't keep the cooler on there because there is a special oil pump gear for the transmissons with LSD to run the oil pump. However I've talked to a couple of folks that dismiss the value of the cooler with today's improved transmission fluids and the cooler's tendency to leak and get ripped off with a wayward cone Obviously Porsche offered limited slip transmission without the cooler from the factory as that is how my car was originally setup.

While my friend was in the transmission he also replaced the gaskets and the carrier bearing on the right and left. He visually inspected the rest of the trans and said it looks good to go. All that is left is to add the fluid of your choice and then turn the tranmission a bunch to get it spread all through the gears.

The cooler is probably only really needed on a serious duty track car.

Daily driver and probably DE events, a non-cooled tranny is fine.

Steering wheel sold for $300. One of the climate control panels sold for $125. Sure would like to find a buyer for the trans. Just ran it through ebay at $1750 obo and had 13 people watching it but no takers.

Price drop on the LSD trans to $1500 plus $75 to ship via DHL. I've got it on ebay along with some other nice parts under the ID jjbare.

Bump - Also have a couple 15" phone dials from an 86 and an RX7 oil cooler for the turbo guys. I have a complete plug and play 86 NA engine as well. The PO said it overheated so the head probably needs to be popped off and a new headgasket put on. Would need a water pump/timing belt job too. Comes with the headers/intake/clutch/airbox. Needs a new j-boot.

Josh,

I may be in the need for one turbo exhaust valve. The pics look like there is pitting on the valve seats. How bad are they?
