FS: 931 & 924 engine componets (new stuff + pix!)

Condition Descriptions
VGC = very good condition, requires minimal cleanup
GC = good condition, requires some cleanup
OK = usable, but requires extensive cleanup & reconditioning
RC = rough condition, usable but requires a lot of work

Other notes: “Left” and “Right” designations are as when the driver is seated. Pictures to verify condition can be provided on a request basis, or as I have time to sort thru and photograph everything. Electrical components have NOT been thoroughly tested, but are presumed by me to be in good working order unless otherwise noted.

Payment & Terms
I'm not looking to make a living here...nor am I out to gouge anyone...but I have a buttload of bits that might be useful. If you don't like my price but need the item, make me an offer. If you want "lot pricing", tell me what you want and make an offer.

All items are price + shipping (i.e., shipping is NOT included) unless otherwise noted. For your protection and mine: Payment in full to be made via PayPal unless otherwise arranged; items will be shipped via USPS or UPS using an insured and trackable shipping option, unless otherwise arranged.

Items are available on a "first come - first served" basis. Post your interested for ALL to see. A simple reply post with "PM sent" is sufficient to time-stamp your interest. I will update the list of parts with "sold" and "pending sale" notices accordingly.

Engine Bay Components
Just added! 931 stock wastegate, needs rebuild, several broken studs will probably need heating to remove studs, diaphragm condition unknown, $75 OBO


Just added! 931 stock air filter box, top and bottom pieces, but missing the rubber straps. It is in OK condition. $30.


Just added! Motor mounts - left side, 477.199.301, good condition, $10 each

Just added! "grommet bolts", for attaching the fuel distributor or airbox to the framerails, three pieces, excellent condition, $4 each or $10 for all three

Just added! 931 stock rods, excellent condition, matched set, $100 firm.


Just added! 931 stock camshaft, excellent condition, $85.


Just added! 931 stock camshaft, regrind core, $30. This cam was originally in my 941. The #2 lobe (exhaust valve on cylinder 1) shows some wear, but I believe this cam is still suitable for a regrind.


931 Series I pistons, standard 86.5 bore, 1st oversize, matched set, $200 firm. These pistons are in great shape. Includes the wrist pins. SALE PENDING


931 Series I pistons, standard 86.5 bore, 2nd oversize, matched set, $25 per piston or $100/set. Two of these pistons have some surface imperfections on the top of the piston dish. Doesn't appear to be detonation or other serious damage, but I acquired these in a package deal with other components, and don't know the history or cause of the imperfections. SALE PENDING


Holbert-style intercooler core, manufactured by AIR Research. My research indicates that this core is the real deal, the identical units that were used in the Holbert ultra wide body conversions. This unit is ideal for anyone wishing to build a true Holbert ultra wide body replica. I acquired it in late 2004 with a 1980 931. It came with very poorly-fabricated end tanks and brackets, so I removed the core. If you want the home-made stuff, I’ll throw it in for free, but I would recommend new aluminum tanks and brackets. The core itself is in excellent condition. Designed to be installed in a vertical orientation, it is approximately 7”x7”x14”, which offers MASSIVE intercooling potential. $100 OBO. VGC. 931 Series I upper charge tube, modified. This unit came with the above mentioned car, and is well-suited for adapting a series I 931 to an intercooled setup, either by using a Holbert style intercooler, or by adding an inline liquid-to-air intercooler, such as the Lindsey Racing THP or one of the small PWR barrel units. $30.


931 Series II upper charge tube. The previous owner hand-painted the “924 Turbo” script red and clear-coated it. The clear-coating has some yellowing, so the charge tube doesn’t look the greatest at the moment. However, with some creative sanding or media blasting, this unit could be reconditioned to better-than-new. $40. GC.

931 lower charge tube, $25. GC.


931 Series I throttle body, complete with both micro-switches, $40. GC.

931 Series I exhaust manifold. This unit has a small hairline crack on the #3 runner (typical). I’ve replaced all of mine with Series II units, so I don’t need this one sitting around. It should be repairable by a competent welder. $30. OK.

924 NA set of used injectors. Fully functioning at time of removal, I’m just anal about my rebuilds. I’ve been hanging on to these as spares, but don’t really need them, so if you want spares or are industrious enough to have them cleaned and refurbed, have at it. $30 for the set. GC.

Rebuilt ignition distributor for Pre-1981 NA models (not sure which specifically), Bosch part number is 237.003.008, $85. VGC. SALE PENDING

Used heater control valve, freely moving & lubricated, 2 to choose from, $5 each. GC. SALE PENDING on 1 unit, 1 still available

Clutch master cylinder, functional but should be rebuilt, 2 to choose from, $5 each. SOLD & SHIPPED

Flosho, just to be clear, it is only the core. I removed the end tanks because they were so poorly fabricated, plus they were heavy (made from steel rather than alu).

Here is a previously posted photo of my holbert IC core:


It doesn't show the entire unit, but you can sort of see the original AIR metalized stickers on the top of the unit. It is basically a big rectangular core, 7" wide by 7" deep by 14" tall. I weighed it last night, and it came in at 15 pounds.

The following photos are not mine, but they are of one of the original GTR(!) units, including the original design of the end tanks. My end tanks looked quite a bit different from these, but were constructed in a similar fashion, with respect to two tanks that were "pulled" together using a similar cross-bolt method depicted in these photos:

Update:
Added a bunch of clickable pix to my picasa album (hi-resolution available there). All pending offers have been updated. Note that a couple of offers did not come to fruition, so check status of items in the original post, as some of you expressed interest in items that were previously pending sale. All consummated offers have been shipped.

For new and pending sales, I will be away from the garage from this afternoon through Sat 26 July. I will have email and internet access, so I will still be able to negotiate prices and shipping, but I will not be able to physically fulfill any more shipments until Monday 28 July.

I still have some goodies floating around the rafters, so when I return, look for new stuff! Thanks all...
