WTB 944 manual steering rack

Hey Guys,

Looking for a good used manual rack and steering shaft for a manual conversion. Tie rods do not need to be included(but would be nice).

Thanks, Don

I've got an '83 944 that I'm getting ready to part. Has the stock manual rack with boot and steering shaft. It works well, but the rack boots are torn and old. Located in Tucson, AZ.

Rack in AZ didn't come to fruition. Anything available this week?

Thanks, Don

I have a manual rack that I just pulled from my parted 944 turbo track car. It had 89 turbo S suspension on it so I had to have custom length tie rods fabricated. It will fit all turbos except the early 86 with 23mm offset wheels. I am asking $250 for it. You need to determine if it will fit your car. Located in San Diego

Why not let our shop convert your power rack to a manual rack? A properly rebuilt power rack retains the quicker ratio, which is great on the track, and only feels heavier under about 5 MPH. I've had a number of sceptical customers tell me to convert their racks after a twenty second drive in the parking lot. I told them to drive the car up the road. They only needed twenty seconds in the parking lot.

A poorly depowered rack will feel very heavy.
