I have '87 944T, currently equipped with:
Weltmeister 28mm front, 25mm rear stabilizer bars, 600 lb/in front springs, 200/lb rear coil-over aux springs Koni adjustable coil/over front & rear This set-up is NOT comfortable ![]() I am a 944T newbie and have been advised to re-fit the car with M030 spec suspension, all or part. I will pay reasonable cash via PayPal for same shipped to 84047. Anything else I should check out? Are there other set-ups that would suit my use? When accomplished the Weltmeister bars and the stiff springs will be for sale. Thanks for any help Bob Allred Salt Lake City, Utah bob@allreds.net |

I just parted an '89 951 with M030 suspension. I'd be interested in seeing what you've got installed on your car.

There are numerous other performance mods to motor, turbo, brakes, etc. The previous owner described the suspension set-up spec as "Porsche Turbo-Cup" I do not know if that is really the case, or just sales bravado. Like I say, I'm a newbie to 944T's. I do have mechanical experience & skills, including former SCCA Club racing, Mazdas, Formula Ford, and more, and also have some flying and aviation in my background, so can appreciate your approach to mechanics, as stated on your website. What else would you like to know? More questions: I have read that the M030 bars are 26.5 mm front, 19mm rear, is that accurate? Will they fit my '87 944T? Do you have the necessary mounting brackets, bushings, bolts, etc to mount the M030 stabilizer bars to my car, Will any of the bushings or other need replacement? Finally, how much shipped to Salt Lake City, zip 84047. Do you have any suggestions as to how I might proceed turning this car into less of a track car, to a more comfortable compromise between fair weather street & touring, and occassional track events etc? Thanks, Bob Allred Salt Lake City, Utah bob@allreds.net |

In the Fires of Hell.....

Why not just get some 150-175lb springs, and swap out the rear coilovers for some regular shocks? Replace the Welts with some stock or M030 sway bars (Won't add to stiffness) and be on your way....
That should be good enough for street and track, at minimal effort and cost. Cheers, Keith
