WTB- rear 951 "turbo S" emblem.

These are only found on the 1988 turbo S model. If you have one, please send me a PM. Thanks.

+1

also, there was no 951S in '89, but they were all 's' spec

i'd also like to find an 's' to go with my turbo script... i think the script 'S' from the 993 would do nicely, but i haven't got around to looking for one yet

Yes True.

There were no distinguishing marks separating the Turbo S from the Turbo.

I can confirm this. I had a 1988 turbo S silver rose and it just said turbo on the back. I have a pic of this.

Also I parted a very low mileage guards red 1988 turbo S and it only said turbo on the back. I probably still have that emblem around.

What I have seen, is the word turbo in lower case, just like the non-S, with a "space" after it, then an upper case "S" connected to the "o" with the bottom part of the "S" extended straight out to the left (the length of a space), where it connects to the bottom of the "o". Also, the top part of the upper-case "S" goes straight out to the right, with extra length that is equal to the length of the lower part that goes straight out to the left.

The guy parting out 6 951's in Shelton, CT said he had one, but he wanted 50 bucks for it, plus shipping. That was about double what I was willing to pay (that was about 7 or 8 months ago). But maybe it WAS worth it, as they now seem to be much rarer than I had originally thought. I assumed all 718 of those cars that came into this country had that emblem. But going by the last few posts, that is apparently NOT the case.

Does ANYONE have one? Or has anyone else even seen the one that I have just described?

Did I maybe see this emblem on some other model, other than the 944 chassis? If so, what model(s) & years carried them. The one I had seen WAS on the right rear.

Yes I have seen what you describe on an early 88 turbo silver rose S but was also told that there was no such thing as well and if not maybe someone added the S from another car. This S is pretty large if I remember correctly and looked out of place.

somebody added the capital-S from a 944s (or some other S) car. there were no factory turbo-S emblems.

Yea, real nice - had me goin'. And BTW, that definitely pegs the guy in Shelton, CT as a scam artist. He was more-than-willing to sell me one for 50 bucks. But I was picking up bad "vibes" from him, so I never sent him any money. Looks like I made the right call on that one.

So it looks like case closed! But it definitely looks "trick" though. Maybe one of these days I will do my own fake one. Any1 got an "S" for sale?

the 944S2 emblem wouldn't flow well with the turbo script from the 951. the s2 script is kind of squarish while the turbo script flows. i'd be looking for the 's' from a boxster s, and using that, maybe letting the S swoop below the o at the end of turbo. i think that's what i had seen at least once on a 951 in a picture.

Probably what I have seen, also. The thing is, I thought that if the peeps behind see that logo, they will know it is an S, and that the 89's didn't have them because the man (ufacturer) dropped the S designation for that year, even though they WERE "S" class. That's why I wanted one on my 89. But it turns out that they are all fake, anyways, and as such, could be on cars that aren't even turbo. So why bother, I now say?

You could pull the "s" or "turbo s" off of a turbo s beetle

seriously, why bother?

i completely removed the 'turbo' emblem altogether so when people get passed they're usually wondering what the heck just passed them.

i especially find it amusing when people think it's a 944.
