WTB: Stock front swaybar 84 944

I am looking for a stock front swaybar and ALL mounting hardware for a 84 944. I believe the bar is 23mm. I had one of these and gave it away.

It must be from an early car. I have a M030 bar from a late car and it will not fit.

PM me cost and shipping to 91977 (San Diego area).

Thanks.......

Jason,

I currently have an aftermarket Vision Motorsports front bar which is too stiff for the springs I am running. We tried to install a M030 bar at the track. It would not line up with the hole in the steel A arms. The M030 bar has drop links on it.

After checking the parts diagram, the early stock bar has a bracket with a rubber bushing rather than a drop link.

M030 bar should fit - you just remove the drop links, and the bar should slip right into the early bushings on the control arms.

That being said, I'll soon have an extra 24.5mm front bar off an '86 turbo. I KNOW this fits, and I have one installed on my '84 right now. $60 shipped if you're interested. But try your M030 bar first, it should fit.

There is an early 84 M030 24mm hollow that's supposed to be a little stiffer than the stock solid, it's lighter and seems to work well with 250lb welts, but nowhere near as stiff as the 30mm late M030.

Also, the '86 951 front bar is hollow at 24.5mm.

Not sure if you're still looking, but I have a good factory sway bar, with hardware from an '84. PM sent.
