FS: Turbo LSD

I have a rebuilt 88 944 turbo transaxle with cooler. Never installed, no fluids except during assembly. The following was done to make this a high HP box-
LSD porsche disc type
5th gear from early model porsche .729 vs .829
Ring and pinion REMed micro polished and the sharp edges on the teeth where broken by the vendor after polishing to ease engagement
Jim Dinner plate added for strength--- I used laser cut stainless steel
Any interest please PM
Thanks

There is a guy, Jim Dinner, that builds Lamborghini Diablo replicas with supercharged 3800 Buick engines and the AUDI 016. He is the one that developed the strengthening plate. He has a car that he loans out to prospective buyers and used to come back with a broken transaxle. All had the rear casting broken from the rear pinion bearing pushing through the casting. He developed the plate and the next part to break was the axle shafts. He made stronger axle shafts and the next part to break was the spider gears in the diff. (he had open diffs) I believe he has fitted an LSD and not had any more problems. He thinks that the breakage had just be fron dropping the clutch in first gear. It would be worse on a rear engined car than ours because it has more weight on the drive wheels.
This was posted buy v8CarreraGTS on the Porsche Hybrids forum
It is a plate with a cutout for the shafts to go through and prevents the above problem. Mine is on the transmission.Pictures are on the GT40.com site of the plate and other References to Jim.The plate goes between the nose cone cover at the back of the trans and the main casting where the 5th gear resides.
The 951 with the strengthing plate is the strongest you will get from the AUDI based transaxles

wow, that's really neat! thanks for the insight!!! never knew anything like that was made for these, but since they've been around for a while (the transaxles) i guess someone would have had to play around with one and make it stronger

Hope the explanation makes it more clear as to why I felt this was a worth while addition to the build.

Per the rules (stickied above) you're supposed to post a price with every listing. This isn't ebay.
