I have an extremely nice 2.7 race motor for sale with many new parts. I am starting to pull it out for sale and had it at the dyno today for power verification. On a Dynojet is pulled 163HP & 161Tq. Motor has been lightened, head/intake ported and flowed, cam etc....
This is a great motor for NASA GTS1/2 or PCA GT6/5S or...........
If interested Pm or E-mail.
I will scan the dyno for e-mailing. No DME or header included.

Wow. That is significant power for an 8v 2.7L motor. That must have all the right stuff. I just spent more than $3k on just the parts for a 2.5L race motor and it falls short of that.

Where was this motor when I started my build.

Oh yea, by Dynojet, I assume this is rear wheel Hp, not flywheel.

Yes, and a 2.5L is rated at 158hp. But again, that is flywheel. Ever dyno one of these things. Not so much. I have not rear wheel dyno'ed a 2.5 to get anything more than 139 and that is chipped. Probably more like 134 133 with a stock chip.

My race 2.5L motor makes 150. That is with a ported head, headers, 3" exhaust, cam, and high comp JE pistons.

So thousands of dollars later and the motor only produces say 30 more hp max to the wheels? Yikes, theres not much to get out of these things is there? I'm not trying to be a jerk, just surprised with the outcome is all but that is just the way it goes I suppose.

This is about as much power as you can get out of an NA motor without spending 10's of thousands of dollars for ITB's, Engine Management System etc.

30/130=23%, that's a big jump in power. I've seen dyno pulls on 2.5L 944's in the mid 120's even.

But yeah, these cars are pushing the limits of what they can do stock, not much you can do to gain power and still have a car that is easily livable on the street for a luxury brand's standards.
