my head is killing me

I have a head that i can not get a standard plug wrench into. Did Porsche make a head that takes a 5/8 plug wrench? 83 944

The 944 head has the large standard plugs in it which a 13/16 standard 3/8 drive socket fits into perfect!

Or you can bust out your standard 944 Porsche tool kit from rear hatch and use the special tool which works great bye the way! Good luck

I have found that the standard porsche tool from most kits does not fit. It is a 21mm plug wrench. I am thinking that a tool kit from the very early models must have a tapered plug wrench. I ground one from another tool it and it works fine. Mr. Porsche is still laughing anytime one of us gets stuck tring to change plugs

Every one of the 944 tool kits I have seen which is dozens has a special tool that is made for removing and inserting spark plugs in 944 heads here is the exact tool and it works excellent!
Maybe the one you have is cracked or warped? Did you check the rubber grommet inside to see if it is messed up and not letting the head of the plug get inserted into the wrench?

I have 2 of these kits in excellent shape complete for sale $75 shipped

21mm thin wall with articulating head for hard to reach through intake spots!
