Little update

Iíve been thinking and trying to sole a corner warping problem for 2 weeks now and I just got it solves with a new mould and forming technique ,
but the mould have another problem (too shallow front lip) and will have to be reject

The good new is the next mould should be the good one and I get fast in making them lolÖ

The bad new is I will be very busy at work in March and it will slow down development

Iím still hoping to start production in May which is doable if nothing else pop up at work.

Stay tune

The project is moving slowly today, no really progress apart that the new mold looks good.
Hereís the new racing strip edition, ÖI kind a screw-up the heating process.
Jokes a side, itís getting there, this mold should be the one.

If everything goes as plan I should have pics of the fibreglass and carbon fibre TPC buckets by the end of this week.

Thanks

This bucket was only there to hold the cover in place for the picture and they will be no hole in the coming ones.
Thanks

Not gonna lie, I about wet my pants I was so happy when I found this. I want a set of these ( I can't afford them, still have to ship my car from utah to south carolina :s). I do have questions though, do you think the plastic will oxidize? And also would the plastic melt if H.I.D. bulbs are used? Last one, how well would tint film adhere to the surface? Thanks!

So how much would a set out of fibgerglass with lenses, no lights cost? and do you sell the glue to attache the lenses? or do they attach with screws like the normal headlights covers

- Texas Performance GTS buckets - cut ???

- Lenses cover (any color): $125 (this is the price that is more subject to change)
So about $275 + shipping, those prices are a quick estimate and since I haven't start production yet, they are subject to change up or down.

Mounting process is not establish yet, but I want to stay away from glue/silicon and stick with screws to ease the tear down and reinstallation for body work or else.

Thanks

Here are some pics of a set of not perfect carbon fibre TPC buckets,
finally got something done, just before I go away for 2 weeks for work.
Anyway, this is the first ďkick at the catĒ and it should give you a good idea of what is coming in a near future.
This is the first and only set I have for now but I should have a good set of carbon fibre and a set of fibreglass to show you in about 2 1/2 weeks.
BTW itís less then 1 lbs for the set of carbon fibre bucket.

On the scale

Those are sick in carbon fiber, I actually had a similar problem with the headlight covers I made from carbon on the corners. Are you using vacuum bag method, or just placing the carbon in a mold?

Behind schedule

Right cover mold is good to go and should have the left one done tomorrow.
TPC buckets will be ready for production in about 2 weeks.
A second buckets style is in development and Iím expecting it to be ready in about 2 mouths.
A second cover style is also in development.

Iím still hopping to start production in May.

Thanks

Ok, Iím back home and thing are not going as smooth as I was hoping, in fact they are really slow.
At lease I have 1 good set of carbon fibre and will get 1 set of fibreglass by mid week.
Iím presently working on a second bucket design which will be more like the original ones.
I also have to find a good way to put my covers with the TPC buckets or built a different covers style, will see.

Thanks

Plesant surprise

I just started looking for the conversion and found this thread. I have a 944S2 and a 944 so I will be checking the potential differences in the two light buckets. I will be following the thread with interest. I would prefer Lexan covers, and no lamp holes if I had a choice.

Looks great. My main concern, though, is with lighting performance. I'm curious if and/or how you plan to test that. Seems like the kind of lamps you're looking to use (halogen 4x6) are best suited to non-recessed mounting locations.
