Parting a 1981 931, or sell as whole.

Just picked up the car, so I have no clue what I really what to do its it. She's a 1981 931 with 86 on the clock. EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE body panels in silver, though the paint does show its wear. Excellent interior script PORSCHE door panels, etc.. Will post pictures soon but was just curious if there was any interest before I make my decision.

Located in Chico, CA.

I am trying to upload pictures as we speak. Electric windows. Would love to sell it as a whole but am almost convinced I should just spend $200 bucks to have the transmission put back together, new carpet... make her pretty again then sell her. Pictures will tell!

My plain is to sell it, too many people on Rennlist have shouted at me every time I say "parting". Now to see what she's worth, glad I saved her from the junk yard!

Not a 924 fan, but that is way to nice to part out...either repair or sell as a whole vehicle.

Yup, agreed, fix the tranny, install it, then, ask for more~! However, two things, Chino is in the middle of nowhere for people not from there. And, if you can't fix the tranny, less of a demand. I have a spare 931 tranny if yer interested. However, it might be cheaper to fix the one you have. dave.

Tranny needs an input shaft, or just a used 944 tranny out of an early 944. Hate to do this to you, but she is in CHICO, CA. as in an hour away from Sacramento... not Chino! Lol!

Would it be a sin if I put turbo twist, GT3 seats, late dash, and red carpet in her?
Feeling the need to keep her now...

late dash will not work...and i would leave that just the way it is...there is only a hand full of 931's left compeared to the 944...

It works with some elbow grease - my old 924S in the picture.
I agree though. She'll make a good time capsule.

The door panels are for an early 944, not late, because of the window switches.
Also, with those wheels, it's quite likely the car has an M471 package. Check it out.
Let's find a good home for this cool old car. PM me if it doesn't sell.
