968 Race Car part out
I am parting out a 93' 968 race car and all of its spares.
The race car has 79,xxx on it and was in beautiful running condition. It suffered a left front impact that moved the shock tower, instead of fixing we are moving to a 911 to run. The engine is original and was not rebuilt, it was a strong motor so we were waiting for some power loss to rebuild. We have the complete engine front the race car as well as a 115,xxx mile short block from a spare car as a spare. No M030 we used s4 brakes with adapters and the sway bars are already sold. We also have a tub from a spare car with factory suspension and all odds and ends. Front factor sway bar What has been sold: shocks and camber plated rear sway bar rotors Power steering pump Tranny's http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...604_120846.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...604_120904.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...604_120918.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...604_120937.jpg |

I had a similar incident 2 months ago with my 951- left front banger. It bent everything forward of the strut towers. Did your frame bend enough to throw off the frame alignment between the front and rear? If not, that frame is salvagable.
We got a donor car, cut out the bad stuff from my car and welded in the good stuff from the donor car. Cost me $400 for the section of the donor car, plus another $1000 for the grafting. Now, you never know the car was damaged! Granted, with body parts, new radiator, coolant tank, hoses, oil coolers, etc, I'm now up in the $5500 area, but I went with new fiberglass, deleted the headlights and did some "while I'm at it..." stuff. I estimate a 2-300lbs weight loss off the front end. Seeing most track guys would at least consider spending $5K to make their car considerably quicker on the track, I figure it was all worth it. |

The wrinkles in the rear floor pan gave us an idea it was done or expensive to hope for an alignment out of it.

got the spare tire laying around?

Any door panels by chance?
|
I'm interested in the housing that goes around the back of the distributor cap/rotor. It is the piece that the distributor cap bolts into.
Also, any chance the lcd temp read-out works? Thanks Chris ceenit@carolina.rr.com |
