I think I need a late HVAC control head.

So I went to replace the clip for the heater flap last night, and when I turned the temp knob the arm on the control arm didn't move. No matter where I put the knob it didn't budge. Does that sound like a bad HVAC control head? If so, who has a working one?

I would check the vacuum tubing first.

I'm talking about the arm on the vent control motor (or blend doors, what ever you want to call them) under the dash, not the arm on the heater control valve. I know the heater control valve it vacuum controlled, but the two blend doors under the dash are electric, and they don't move at all. Or at least the one for the heat door, I didn't try the other one (that controls the foot vent, I think).

Those should be activated by the sliders, not the temperature knob....?

Dealt with this 3 times in the last month and it was control unit. I have 18 control units and only 3 tested fully working. They are all sold. Make sure if you buy used that seller has fully tested. Nothing worse then fixing a problem with a bad used part

I've got one coming out of an 88 951s...let me know if that will help. I can pull it this weekend.

Cheers,

Rick
