Smile Help on Replacement Rims For 924 ?

Hello all

I am looking to purchase these rims on Ebay and was wondering if they fit on my 1980 924 (normally aspirated). I am really stupid when it comes to this so if they can be used with spacers can anyone give me any guidance as to what size spacers I would require. Your help is immensely appreciated and thanks in advance.

Manny

wheels

Tthe ET offset at 15mm puts the wheels to far outward for the front of a 924 You may squeeze them in the rear with the right tires. I messaged your PM about the spider web OEM wheels 15x6 they are et 33.8.

Here is what a set of 15x7 et 23 looks like on Ft of a 924 the et 15 would be 5/16" ( 8mm) further out that these are on the silver car. You can see the silver car is running the Front end jacked up so the tires don't rub.

You can see in the rear an extra 8mm ( 5/16) would be okay ) Silver car

I suspect the red car is running spacers in the rear to help the rear stick out since the fronts do.

Thank you for you reply..

Sorry.. I am not really a fan of the wire wheels and would do it only if there isn't any other option.

But I am still confused. The offset has to do with height ? I thought the size of the wheel (15 inch) is what dictated that ? Apologize for my ignorance that's why I am looking for guidance on what can fit if I used spacers and what would be safe.

Outside of the wire wheels is there any vendor out their I can contact that can help sell me something different ?

Thank you again..

4x108

Ford Focus used the 4x108 bolt pattern. 108mm converts to 4-1/4" so that may be another way to search. ET is offset dimension from the center line of the wheel if the mounting face on the rim was dead on center the ET would be 0
So your et 15 outs the mounting face 15mm toward the outside of the wheel.
et 36 moves it out even more THus tucking the rim inward more.
et 52 like on late offset 944 and Porsche boxters etc puts the mounting face outward even more. Later cars and FWD cars run the hubs further outward for more bearing support and to fit ABS. so they need to run higher et to tuck whe wheels back under.

For the Ford Focus 4x108. What offset would be acceptable with the safe use of wheel spacers on front or back of the 924 ? I find many on ebay.

et

Hey guy spacers are what you will not need... Most rims will be putting you to far out side of the fenders. Like I said you will need an et in the area of 30 36. and since Posrche did 108 bolt centers it kind of screws you into a limited offering.
Sure other 108 bolt center rims you find will look cool but the et will be low and rim to far out and spacer cannot fix that just push it out more.
I Saw a thread recently where a guty fitted some decent looking new alloys BBS copies let me find it and link you I think it was overseas though so it will cost you to get them imported...

What is the ET on them Racer ? it's normally cast or stamped on back side or under under center cap area.
I think in your previous thread you stated they were 7.5 x 16 ?

These have a 38 offset ? Any problem using this one or does it need to be exactly 33 for the offset. Hopefully getting closer..
