Those are 928 wheels, not 944. But they do fit 944

Correct, 944 Turbos had these, and as pointed out, different part # and slightly different offset. And the are made buy Fuchs

Learn something new everyday! What year of S2's and 944 Turbos had these .. I thought the '88 onward turbos had either forged Clubsport or for '90/91 9"/7.5" D90's. This style was called Gullydeckel and I too though they were 928 specific .. but stand corrected

The M385 option, forged aluminum "Disc style" 7&8s were offered on the 89 S2 as listed in my official 1989 S2 Porsche tech info. I don't have the 1990 supplement but my 1991 supplement says all wheel designations, rim and tire sizes and wheel offsets have been adopted from 1990 without changes. However for reasons of comfort tire pressure in rear tires dropped from 3.0 bar to 2.5 bar. This change in rear tire pressure was also to be applied to earlier S2 models.

The set I have came off a buddies 87 Turbo, so that would be the 1st year (plus when they went to late offset) and as pointed out, an option on the 89 S2 (which came standard with cast phone dials) and some early 964s also came with flats as an option, but can't remember if they used a different part #.

BTW, these work great on 5 lug 924 Turbos & 924Ss...

Agreed, although I somehow wound up with a square set of 7x16's.

Also I have cut out the half moon shape sections shown on that pictures with part # and then they look identical to the 7 x 9" forged '89 turbo wheels. It poses no structural support and then you can run 8"in front and 9" in back.

Pretty sure they were optional on '87 and '88 non-S Turbos, and likely on '87-'89 944's.

I think they were offered on the 964, but quite rare. I think if anyone opted to upgrade their 964 wheels they went to 17" cups.

That doesn't sound very good. I don't think forging (or any wheel structure for that matter) lends itself to being cut up. The molecules are 'aligned' in forging and I doubt cutting them would be a good idea.

They made 16"x8" Clubsports anyway. Delivered on the 928 GTS IIRC.
______

GLWS!

Take care,

Boringly enough I think it's just called "light metallic blue". L30T or something like that.
