WTB brake wear sensor wire harnesses

looking for at least the rear brake wear sensor wire harness for a 1987 944 NA (*non-ABS*).

note : this is the wire harness/cable that is upstream of the actual brake wear sensor that resides in the brake pads, but not the short wear sensor itself (which is readily available new).

also, should be a *functional* harness. I might take the fronts as well depending on the asking price.

Brake pad sensors

I think its wrapped into the body harness. Do you have most of it and only need the ends like someone cut the connectors or would I need to split it out of the complete harness ? (IE power connection at fuse box and gauge idiot light wiring )

specifications for harnesses

here's the numbers from the PET

2. 944 612 107 00

3. 944 612 108 00

4. 944 612 109 00

all are "additional cable for brake pad wear indicator" (non-anti-lock/non-M593)

... while we are at it, part no. 1 might be interesting too - depending on the price, that is, but it is not clear if it is anti-lock only or not, or what the number is - see diagram:

B sensors

looked like the 86 cars it was basically a series connection through all 4 wheel pad sensors and came back to the Brake reservoir level. So basically if brake reservoir went low ( float switch) or any wear sensor was cut you get the brake warning light . Is that the objective?

That sounds familiar - I will have to read about it.

That PET I put above is for 85-88 I think

Sounds like he is looking for the harness plugs and some or all of the harness, not just the wear sensors.

The Electrical diagrams is where I saw the sensor loop and reservoir connections.

Texas Blake site has them.

I too can find them there contained inside piles of wires, but I am asking for a little better here, namely that they actually work and I can get the exact thing.

sorry, it is a mouthful either way:

Brake Wear Sensor Wire Harness

plural form, thus the apostrophe and then the s.

this will teach me to never use awful acronyms for things like that.

Ntusmm

Seems you may just need SMM and SCW to check the circuit.

... a taste of my own medicine... but I am intrigued - dare I ask what does SMM and SCW mean?
