Porsche 944 Turbo/951 Steel-Sleeved 1986 Engine block

For sale is a 1986 Porsche 944 turbo engine block, fitted with steel sleeves. Looking to get $500 plus shipping costs, will ship internationally. I am open to offers and local pickup.

I had bought this block with hopes of building my own "hybrid stroker" engine, but do not foresee myself doing such a serious build any time soon. This post is to gauge interest, if a serious buyer steps up we can work out the deal.

This block was sleeved 15 or so years ago on behalf of KOKELN RACING for a car they were building. It was built for the old "GT3" class with displacement limited to 2.6L. This block was sleeved and bored to 4.00"/101.6mm to maximize displacement under the rules as well as make use of less expensive, off-the-shelf SBC/SBF pistons/rings.

This block has a lot of time/hours/mileage on it and now has cylinder taper of about 0.005", my machine shop recommended taking it to 4.020" or even 4.030" to get the bores straight and fresh - this still allows you to use off-the-shelf domestic V8 pistons. Block will include balance shafts and balance shaft covers and other parts that must match the block.

In the second picture you will see a repaired crack on the corner of the block - I bought the block like this, but knowing the long and successful racing history of this engine I would have no concerns or second thoughts about the integrity of the block. If the block doesn't sell in this auction I will just hold onto it for my own build sometime in the future.

I can also provide, for added cost, 951 intake manifold (painted red!), matching oil pan, and a 944 crankshaft requiring rod-journal work if you want to build your own hybrid-stroker engine. Other parts available too.

looking for $500 plus shipping for this package:
- complete sleeved block (w/ bal shaft stuff and crank girdle, and ARP/raceware studs/nuts)
- 2.5 crankshaft suitable for offset grinding
- 1986 951 oil pan from this block.
