WTB - 951 DME & chips

Want a working DME & chips for 944 Turbo 87-89.

My 86 DME died, selling the 86 Race Weissach Factory Software Cup chips which are recent burn on new blanks.

my spare is 86 with chips , want another early 951 DME for testing and may want to swap custom chips which i can't do with late 28pin.

Remanufactured is over $300 for DME and can't fit my chips into a late 28pin on core exchange which are ALL late 28pin

You know you can buy the 24 and 28 pin EPROM sockets for like 1 dollar on ebay right? Its a mitsubishi EPROM. Just buy a 28 pin socket and solder it in, or if you want to do it even easier just buy 4 pins (or separate 4 pins from a socket) and instill the extra 4 pins. Done for under 2 bucks. The one you need is a ZIF machine pin type socket.

Interesting retro fit on pins, but my 86 24pin DME is DEAD

Tested my early 24 pin DME and it's dead, a loner i got started right up.
Need to pull my Race 24 pin chip from DME, i suppose to diff chips in KLR & DME is going to be kosher when i swap to a refurb 28pin with 5yr warranty ??

i upgraded 89 K26-8 hybrid rebuilt , maybe i need 89 DME with 89 Chips ??

odd that this company don't offer their $100 performance chips for rare '89,

they don't have 24pin, only 28pins upgrade to swap so the solder retro fit would most likely void 5yr warranty which is the entire idea of refurb otherwise just buy a chipped late ECU.

They wan't another $150 of $475 to repair 86 DME vs $325 core swap and go with 28pin chips they sell for $100, and no telling turn around time, won't be able to move my 951 out of way to drive my black 6spd Hellcat Chally in garage, if i park 951 next to Chally then my M3 vert is outside.

$100 pair of 28pin chips, don't see chips offered with 89 DME with differ serial, i have the 89 k26-8 hybrid but run 24pin 89 Cup chips burned which wasn't cheap custom flash copy, they don't have overboost limp like Autothority and more timing advance & some other stuff, tested them +20psi on 93pump and they didn't limp like rest of chips would.
