is that the one where it is a big bulky one that sits in ur lap and has the cover that pops off. do u have any pics or know where I can find one?

Big bulky one? It is round..... has three spokes... horn pad that looks like a throwing star. (3 points) It is standard equiptment on most of the early 944 and 924S.

I will see if I can find a photo on line. I do not have one here at work.

I have good used front strut assemblies (springs, shocks, and all that) from a '87 944. If they fit (I think so) just let me know and make a reasonable offer.

FWIW the rear are just shocks and the torsion bars are the springs. So the rear are not really called struts.

Thanks,

well if u can find out for sure if they will fit I I will make an offer. is it a stock replacement? how much life left on em?

Oops, sorry from the Pelican parts listings it seems that the 83-86 is the same and the later 87+ a different design.

How different I do not know, but the part numbers are different. Then again they might fit but be firmer as the car got heavier? Dunno as they look the same to me.

well I would hate to pay for em get em here and they dont fit.. how much $$ do u want for the front and back?? maybe we could do like half down and I will put em in and see if they fit??are they a more competitive shock than an 83??

I was just thinking like $50 for the pair of fronts with full assembly.

I would post this question of backward compatability to the general 944 BBS and see what others may have done. Might be an easy answer that saves the hassle of trying it yourself.

Thanks,
